Sioux Falls Power forward Jimmy Egan has committed to continue his hockey career at Arizona State University, adding another Division I destination to his development journey.
Egan, an ’08-born forward from Mahtomedi, Minnesota, announced his commitment to the Arizona State Sun Devils in May 2025.
The commitment comes after a standout season with Sioux Falls Power, where Egan recorded 46 points in 26 games. His offensive production and continued development helped put him on the radar of NCAA Division I programs.
During his time with the Power, Egan established himself as an important offensive contributor.
His 46 points in 26 games represented a strong production rate and demonstrated his ability to consistently create offense at the AAA level.
That performance helped Egan earn an opportunity to take the next step in his development and pursue his goal of playing NCAA Division I hockey.
Egan will join an Arizona State hockey program that has rapidly established itself as a competitive Division I program.
The Sun Devils, led by longtime head coach Greg Powers, finished the 2024–25 season with a 21-14-2 record and advanced to the NCHC tournament semifinals.
Arizona State has become an increasingly attractive destination for high-level recruits, giving players an opportunity to compete in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference while playing in Tempe, Arizona.
For Egan, the commitment represents another important milestone in his hockey career.
Another Division I Pathway for a Power Player
Egan’s commitment is another example of the opportunities available to players who continue to develop through Sioux Falls Power.
The goal of the program is not simply to win games at the youth level. It is to help players develop the skills, habits and experience necessary to pursue opportunities at the next level.
For Egan, that next step will be Division I hockey with the Arizona State Sun Devils.
His journey also serves as an example for the young players currently working through the Power program: continued development can open doors to opportunities well beyond the AAA level.
Congratulations to Jimmy Egan on his commitment to Arizona State University. Sioux Falls Power is proud to be part of his journey and looks forward to following his continued success at the NCAA Division I level.
