Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program is proud to announce that Dane Montgomery (’02) of Grand Forks, ND, a member of the U16 team and a University of North Dakota commit, has been called up by the Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL) for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season.  Montgomery appeared in 26 games for Sioux Falls Power U16’s team and was a team leader with 12 goals and 29 points.

“Dane’s work ethic, drive and desire to be an elite player continues to push him to achieve new heights. Playing in the USHL has been a goal of his, and we are proud that our program has helped him reach that goal,” said Head Coach Noelle Needham.

Montgomery, a 5’9”, 165lb right-handed forward, joined the Sioux Falls Power U16 team after an impressive summer that included representing the United States at the U17 Five Nations Tournament in Piestany, Slovakia.  He made a verbal commitment to the University of North Dakota in October 2018.

“I’m thrilled for Dane!  I’ve been impressed with him since I first saw him last summer.  He is a dynamic hockey player and a terrific young man.  We are grateful that he was a part of our program, and we wish him the very best in the years to come,” said Sioux Falls Power GM, Matt Tobin.

Montgomery has already appeared in six games for the Waterloo Black Hawks and has 1 goal, 1 assist, and is a plus (+) 3.
