Sioux Falls POWER Announces Hiring of Brandon Wildung
Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program is proud to announce the hiring of Brandon Wildung (Edina, Minnesota) as Program Goaltender Coach. He will also serve as an Assistant Coach on the U16 team.
Coach Wildung, a native of Nassau, MN, played for junior hockey for the Minot Minotauros (NAHL), and played collegiately at Mercyhurst University (NCAA Division I). Wildung also played professional hockey in the East Coash Hockey League (ECHL) before recently retiring.
While at Mercyhurst, Wildung, a four-year starter, recorded 3,037 saves, 6 shutouts and 5 assists in 103 games. He was named to the All AHC Tournament Team, 2-time Team MVP and Mercyhurst Scholar Athlete of the Year. He completed his college career with a 2.88 GAA/.916 SAV and 7th all-time in Atlantic Hockey history with 38 wins.
“We are fortunate to have Brandon join our coaching staff. Our program is getting a coach that knows what it takes to be successful at the NCAA Division I level, and has professional experience. He has also trained under Dave Rogalski, current St. Louis Blues Goalie Development Coach, whom we have the utmost respect for,” said Matt Tobin, General Manager. Wildung will join the program and take over all Goaltender and U16 Assistant Coach responsibilities immediately.
“We are really excited about the overall direction of our program, the growth of our profile, and the upcoming season. We are excited to have Brandon join our staff, and be a resource for our players and especially our goalies,” Tobin added.
The Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 program, based out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, provides Tier 1 teams at the 14U, 15, 16U & 18U levels.
